West End Babptist Church Atlanta Georgia

This is the Church in Atlanta that Mark Grandmother was the Building Chairman and also her Construction Company Built. The green columns look just like Marble but are scagiola . Maude brought 3 men that were Italians, living in Washington, and flew them here and rented rooms for them to spend weeks building and finishing the columns. people today still think they are marble. Mark has the newspaper clippings telling all about the columns and the building of this beautiful church. At this reunion the black lady was Mrs. Ralph David Abernathy. When she spoke she talked about how her husband came to the church looking to buy it for his congregation, and when he brought Mrs. Abernathy to see it she said "a woman built this church" and Mr. Abernathy said " you are just womans rights, how can you tell a woman built this". And she said" I just can., It is beautiful". Then she said " And then I met the Builder and it WAS a woman". How cool it that. I know Mark was very proud at that moment even more than before. I even got chills of proudness! It was a great day! Love ya Nan
