Just a few More early Memories:
1. The earliest memory is The day we arrived in Raven Cr. Fountain Valley.
I remember going to the model house and seeing the first water cooler. It was pretty neat. Then I remember going up and down the road waiting for the truck to arrive. ( I went to Raven Cr. about 15 yrs ago and the street is really not very big at all. )
2. I remember being in Montevallo and Ray coming home from the Navy on leave. He sat on the front porch playing his guitar and sang Withchita Lineman. I thought he had the most absolute beautiful voice in the world.
3. I remember Rob getting in trouble in Montevallo, and Daddy chasing him around the big dinner table in the big dining room. I thought he was going to kill my big brother!
4.I remember mom, dad, Carolyn and Jimmy going somewhere and Leaving Memaw with Jay, Jeff, Randy and myself in Montevallo. I do not think Memaw had a very good time. ha ha
5. I remember Rob almost getting killed in a car wreck in Birmingham. I was so frightened. When he came home from the hospital, I played like I was sick so I could stay home with him.
6.I remember when Ric was married the first time and lived below montgomery and had Peacocks in his yard.
7.I remember when mom worked at the dentist with Doc and I loved to go up there.
8. I remember when mom worked at the paper and worked late on tuesdays. I HATED to go up there. I was scared of Uncle Bobby. She treated him like a boss instead of a little brother. Never made since to me.
9.I remember the huge Christmas production at the Methodist church that Helen put on. I thought it was Huge...... i really think it couldnt have been that big.
10.I remember riding to Newnan Georgia in the back seat of the car the day Mandy was born. I thought Dad was going to get us killed. He was driving like a maniac.
Just more thoughts....... I know BOARING!
I guess i will go to bed now. I hope you all have a glorious week. I love you all! Nan

Memories of My Daddy!
1. Never to ask daddy to do or go anywhere because before I could ask he would be saying NO, always ask mom and let her ask for me, the next day I would always get a YES!
2.If ever there were money problems, good ole dad could figure a way to make it happen and have all kind of creative ways to pay him back!
3. I loved his coveralls. I still have a pair in my closet. Funny though I always thought of daddy as a big man, but I got them out for a play and they were Mark's size?????
4. I remember one time when we lived in the Big white house, Dad was in the old shacky barn behind the pump house, and he came ripping out and had bees chasing him, he was tearing out of those coverall's and of course I was laughing as hard as I could. (I still do that in a bad situation, sometimes it gets me in big trouble. And I think that day I got in trouble)
5. The Leland tongue. If he was mad it was doubled back, and you better watch out.
6. Remember the old beige truck that he had at one time, That was when I was in jr. high. It had a switch for a starter.
7.I loved the leather skin, wrinkles and the way he smelt. NO ONES smells like my daddy did.
8.I remember going to California and we always filled up at Gulf stations so we could get a state sticker to go on the car.
9. I remember daddy laying in the floor to play with Jack. He would take a toy and hide it in his hand and switch it back and forth under his back driving Jack crazy.(Daddy loved it)
10. I remember him buying a truck load of old bricks, when we lived in Glendale and we had to sit out by the street and hack away at all the old cement to get it off so he could use them again.
11. I use to love it when he would get his pipe out and play with it.
12. I loved it when he would change the flint in his lighter and put lighter fluid in it. It smelled so good.
13.I loved it when he would polish his shoes.
14.He would at night always comb the dogs.
15.I loved it when I would see him come in and kiss and hug my mom.And sometimes take her in the living room and dance with her.
16. I loved the way he loved and respected Papaw. They loved working in the garden together.
17. I HATED the year he planted peanuts.!!! Jimmy Carter! Peanuts are dirty and I DO NOT like to get dirt on my hands. But guess who got to pluck them off the bushes!!! ME and RAndy!
18. I have millions of Memories.
19. I love it when he comes to me in a dream and hugs me Now!
20. I love the way people look at me and my kids and say "They have Leland's eyes"!
